Should commercial cloning be available so owners can recreate beloved pets?
Animal cloning is unethical and should be banned.
Cloning of animals for medical research is understandable, but I don’t agree with making it available to the public.
The technology exists so people should have the option to pay to recreate their pets if they choose.
The technology is exciting and I would consider having my pet cloned in the future.

CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES

Feature writing: Anyone interested in submitting a feature to Focus, please read our guidelines first.

Work experience: BBC Focus has a limited number of two-week editorial work experience slots available.

You'll need to be prepared to help with research and short pieces of writing for the magazine and website, and to help out with our podcast.

You’ll also perform administrative tasks necessary to the day-to-day running of the magazine, such as updating feature indexes, fact-checking – and making copious amounts of tea.

You’ll hold a degree or be a student on a relevant university course, and have plenty of enthusiasm and a strong interest in science journalism.

In return, you'll see first-hand how Focus is put together, and (probably) get some of your work published in print and/or online.

If you're interested in being considered for one of our placements, please send a CV and cover letter to Andy Ridgway, News Editor, who is now considering applications for placements through 2008.

We're sorry, but placements are only open to those over the age of 18.
